finally installing all the parts laying here...

It used to be that I had allthe time I needed to get things done, but I didnt have any $$$$ to buy the cool stuff for the jeep. Now I am finally able to afford some parts, but I dont seem to have the time to install them.
yesterday I was looking at the pile of parts here that I havent installed yet.
ARB air locker for d-44
ARB for d-30
ARB compressor and switches
4.56's front and rear
AGR power steering pump
AGR Steering box
AGR rock ram
steering box skid
1" body lift
3/4" spacer lift

AAAAHHHHHH.....

well.. today i made a little progress. I got the ARB compressor in the wifes jeep and the switches are in (and they work!)
I also installed the rock ram system into my jeep. Initial thoughts..
it steers a bit firmer than before, but not hard. it wouldn't move the jeep more than 4" over when parked against a telephone pole and you never feel any more pressure to the wheel. the tires turn.. no matter what. the kit was easy to install.. I didnt have any directions, and it seems to work well. onthe road I cant tell its there. I removed the steering stabilizer and I havent seen any death wobble (yet)... so far.. 2 thumbs up...
tomorrow I hope to get the gears and lockers into the wifes tj... I doubt I'll get them both done, but thats OK.... she loves driving my '77 F-250 with no AC BWAHAHAHAHA...
actually.. she usually takes my tj when hers is under the knife... maybe I'll go wrench some more...

Re: finally installing all the parts laying here...

I installed an AGR power steering pump and box on my ride about a year ago, and for some reason I couldn't get the pump working right. No matter how much I bled the system, it was extremely hard to turn the wheels at idle, but on the road it worked fine. I had to rev the engine to get the tires to turn during slow cornering, like in a parking lot. I ended up putting my stock pump back in, because my arms would get sore from all the exercise. Hope you have better luck with yours.

I still have some stuff to install that was purchased back in the good old days when web sites had the promotional 25% and 33% off offers. I decided to call them YTBI parts (Yet To Be Installed).

I just finished installing the pump that I sent to AGR for repair and all works well now. I spent days the first time trying to get the system to work and never could. Modified the stock pump and all worked well. Sent the pump back to AGR and they fixed it. I think they returned the same pump.
This time when I installed the new ram (bent the old one) and the pump, it blead so easy and I used less that two quart bottles of powerstearing fluid.
Contact AGR and they will help you. They realy did me. I think they had a bad run of pumps, as I have read about lots of initial problems.
good luck

Re: finally installing all the parts laying here...

We had a bad AGR pump from the factory...

I surely know that *have the parts but not the time* feeling
we have:
*york compressor for my '85 CJ7
* Beechwood canvas seat replacement kit for our CJ2a
* Lift springs for our CJ3b
* Lift springs for our J10
*nice hard-doors that just need painted to match my jeep
*fiberglass lift gate for the hard-top
*backup lights for Ricks truck

Oh the list could go on and on...... pretty cool stuff you were putting off though...
