How do I remove the Windshield Sprayer Nozzle?

I have a 79 CJ7. I would like to ensure that the spray nozzle will work when I get a new pump for the washer fluid reservoir. It looks like the sprayer is made of brass, so it will score easily if I use a wrench. In any case, does it simply pull straight up and off or does it unscrew or is it permanantly fastened to the front of the tub?

Stick your arm up under the cowl and there is a nut on the underneath , its a toughie to do but its possible . Its getting the wrench up there that can be an issue .
What I would do before you take it off is grab the hose up under there and just blow through it with some compressed air first , you might not need to remove it .

Yes , sorry if I wasnt clear on that . Up under , behind the dash at the very top . Grab the hose from the washer tank and blow through it first and see if its free before you go through all that

I have an old Chevy truck that when i bought it the spray nozzles were less than perfect. I bought some CLR remover (Calcium, Lime, Rust) like you clean fixtures with that are exposed to hard water. I attached the hose feeding the spray nozzle to a syringe filled with CLR and kept squirting it out until it was easy to do.

What a difference it made - a lot of crud was stuck in there!
