Bumper/Tire carrier done!!!

Got the bumper done. I still have to drill out the lock for the tire carrier but won't be able to do that until the tire carrier is actually in place. I also have to get some additional brackest to weld to the bottom of the bumper and bolt to the frame for additional support.

Looks good. Is it 2x6 tube and are you going to have to raise the tire to clear the pintle hook. I wanted to put a pintle on mine, but with the stock CJ tire carrier it wouldn't clear.

Re: Bumper/Tire carrier almost done!!!

Yep, the only trailer that I will be hauling with this little Jeep will be my M-416 and I have the lunnette eye to go with it. I've only got the pintle bolted to the front half of the bumper. I pulled my pintle off of a M151 and the thing was just bolted to the crossmember so I figure that where and how I have it should be good enough too

BMB-my tire carrier should be finished this evening, when it's completed the tire will ride about two inches above the bumper itself, it's gonna ride a bit high. Also, once in place, I'm gonna come up with a removable trail rack, I'm leaving the top center tube of the tire carrier open(like a receiver hitch) and will come down to the two side bars with support beams. All three will use those aircraft pins to hold everything in place. I don't know if I described everything right but when I get it all done, the pics will be here.

How'd ya mount it, and what'd ya use for a hinge? Looks nice! How thick of tubing is that? 1/8"? 3/16"?
