OT XJ AC system repair ?\'s

Well this has been a bad couple of weeks for jeeps in this houshold. Two mondays ago the AC compresor locked up on the wifes XJ, which I think is my fault of over charging. This past monday the CJ's radiator spewed as my wife pulled in the driveway from work. So we are down to my S-10. So anyway back to the topic at hand, do I put the oil in the compresor through the intake port where the hose hooks to it? I'm not clear on how mutch to add either. Does anyone have any links to how-to's or anything on AC systems. If NAPA actually ordered the right accumulator this time I hope to have it done tommorow, it's just not like NAPA to screw up the same thing twice. Also does any one know how good the 3 core replacement rads. are from Rosser, I hope they are ok cause I ordered one last night. Thanks in advance.

Brad- try this site The Automotive Air Conditioning Information Server .

They also have a BBS to ask questions about A/C.

Re: OT XJ AC system repair ?\'s

I got a new GDI 3-core open-style radiator and AC Condensor. The quality is excellent, and the price is very reasonable. I never overheat anymore. When I upgraded the AC system to R-134a I replaced the condensor, accumulator, and all the hoses and fittings. Replacing just the radiator should only take 2 hours tops, including beer drinking time

Whenever I have an A/C "issue" I turn to Dirt Dog for advice. He's the A/C guy on this BBS that can answer your questions and get you pointed in the right direction.

Re: OT XJ AC system repair ?\'s

GlassCJ- I'm sorry, I totally mis-read your post and somehow thought you were replacing the XJ's radiator . If you hadn't already ordered your radiator, I would say looking up GDI would be worth your time. I know many people that have done business with them and none that have complaints. The radiator they sent me fit better than the OEM one did!
