Soundbars

Ok, maybe I'm just tired, but where exactly does a soundbar mount? I've seen pictures where it's above the front seats (in front of the central roll bar) and just behind the front seats (behind the central roll bar).

Re: Soundbars

On my TJ it mounts directly behind the roll bar where you mentioned. You can also get boxes that you can attach anywhere along a flat part of the soundbar that can rotate. I don't think it would work in front of the roll bar because you'd hit your head on it everytime you hit a bump.

Re: Soundbars

The awnser is , it depends. THe factory sound bar for the TJ's mounts behind the center loop, which can be good if you are really tal like 6'6" or taller then there is no way you will hit your head on it. Aftermarket ones (ie SteelHorse) mount in front of the roll bar. The advanteage to this is you can use a bikini top with no problems. The one on my YJ mounts in front and I prefer it that way, but I run the bikini top and windjammer(had to extend the straps to make it fit, but I just used the ones the Jeep came with) until it get really cold, and everything fits better and the sound bar is protected better. I hope this helps some.
