flex shot with jc whitney springs

i have ben asked about the flex of jc whitney 7leaf hd springs for the rear of a cj and i found some poser camp shots on the camera from my tellico trip. anyway i run the jcw 7 leaf hd springs at all four corners on my jeep and i have had very good luck using them in a soa setup. they are military wrapped on both ends and flex nice. anyway here are some pic's. my 42's sure make 38's look small

Re: flex shot with jc whitney springs

You say you are using the seven leaf front and back ? I may be wrong, but I thought the front HD were only five leaf or something like that.so I am wondering if you are running rear springs on the front, and how is that working out for ya ?
Or am I misunderstanding you ?

Re: flex shot with jc whitney springs

yes i am using the 2.5" wide rear springs in the front. i have been for about 5 years. they work great and flex great. i have used different setups in the past. stock rear cj springs at all 4 corners, yj's at all 4 corners, front wagoneer springs ar all 4 corners and now (the past 2 years) these jcw 7 leaf hd rear cj springs. these springs work great. i had pretty goo luck with the stock rear cj springs too but the yj springs and the wagoneer sucked. they sagged, tweeked, broke and bent way to easy. i never broke a yj spring but i did the waggy springs.

Re: flex shot with jc whitney springs

So have you been running the same JCWhitney HD 7 leaf rear CJ springs for 2 years?.....wow, if that wasn't a mouthfull!!! My stock YJ springs are looking pretty pathetic. Well, just the fronts. My rear end doesn't flex at ALL because of my shocks/e-brakes. I should probably fix that some day

yes i have been running the same springs for 2 years. the same spring setup i run can be used on a yj. i have heard of people with yj's who have done it with good results.

High5,

What kind of anti-wrap bar are you using?

Re: flex shot with jc whitney springs

i built my own similar to the sam's off-raod setup. the ladder style with the shackle. they are the only way to go in my op. i tried severl different seups after going soa and this by far works the best. other setups either bound and limited flex or they just didn't work. i have been running this setup for a few years with good luck. one tip though anf that is build it beefy. i bent a few before i ended up with the one i have now.

Re: flex shot with jc whitney springs

Got any pictures of the anti wrap bar??
Sounds like the JCW springs hold up pretty good.
Do you do a lot of hard wheeling?
Thanks for the pictures.
