Jeep Jamboree/Camp Jeep???

Does anyone know about the Jeep Jamboree being held in Columbiana Ohio in July? I live about an hour south of there and I would really like to attend. Will there be anybody else there off of this board? And, when and where is camp Jeep? How good is it?
Thanks,
Chris.

Re: Jeep Jamboree/Camp Jeep???

The *Jamboree* in Canfield (near Columbiana) is a the 4 Wheel National Jamboree - not a Jeep Jamboree. It is basically a big show, with lots of show trucks & jeeps. There is also some tough truck competitions, a rock crawling event (on trucked in boulders), I went last year, it wasn't overly exciting. I'm skipping it this year & going trailriding instead with our jeep club - which if you are in Western PA or Eastern Ohio you want to look into http://www.hrja.org - anyway, info on the Canfield event is at http://www.familyevents.com and Camp Jeep this year is in Missouri in July go to www.jeepunpaved.com for more info.

Re: Jeep Jamboree/Camp Jeep???

camp jeep is nothing but a drive thru a mud puddle, over a manufactured hill, and over a gravel road. last year i went on a trail ride with the erie shores jeep club in rogers ky, and one of their member had an xj, she went to camp jeep. she was pretty confident in that "training camp's" education. mid ride she said that this is nothing that camp jeep could have ever prepared her for. she said she learned more from our first day's ride than she did during the whole camp jeep thing. its more of a class for street jeep drivers to understand what a jeep is really for, and a hint of what it can really do. imo, i would save my money and join a club and get your jeep up to club specs than going to camp jeep. is it a good idea?, i think so, but if you think that will prepare you for what you will experience on the trails, you're sadly mistaken.
