Where to buy a carb?

Where is the best place to order a Holley carb online? I can't buy much for carbs locally so I was wondering where to buy one for a reasonable price.

Thanks for the info.

Al

Unless you are set on buying a new one, buy one on e-bay and rebuild it. Much cheaper and not that hard to do. I hate to entervene on your decision but if it is going off road, put on a quadrajet. For new stuff I like Summit Racing.

Re: Where to buy a carb?

I got a 650 CFM holley 4BBL with only 200 miles on it that i want rid of. It was too big for my V6, so I went to a 390 CFM and this carb is sitting around my house. I has been sitting for a year, but i only wan it for one weekend before i pulled it off. It is a single pumper. It has an electric choke also. I am asking $75 for it. I dont know what engine you have. If you have a a 6 or less, then i think it would be too big for you, but if you have a V8, then this would be good.

Re: Where to buy a carb?

Yeah you could probably get a holley that needs rebuilt for 10-20 bucks..if that. They usually go pretty cheap.I was looking for carbs on there for a while.
You can usually get new carbs, or fairly new carbs for a fraction of the price too.
The good thing about that is no core charge.
If you get a diff carb from a place, they will want a core charge..which is 20-30 bucks

Re: Where to buy a carb?

if you are doing the holley 390 thing you may want to look at the edelbrock 500 (a bit cheaper and i had better performance and fewer problems with it on my first 78) if you are intent on doing the holley you're best bet is probably a used one and rebuild (easy to do), but when you do it you may also want to try to rig something to keep the vents from spilling when wheeling (either a plastic tube connecting them with vent holes on top or remote them with tubing)
