Re: jeep hauler needed- need info

Depends on several factors. What do you tow it with? And how much goodies you want to carry? 16' can carry the jeep OK but most guys want 18' so they can mount a box to carry tools and such. Also make sure you get one with brakes. I could list companies but they would be on the east coast and not close to you. If you don't get too many answers about ones close enough for you to pick up local to you, try the pirate BBS. They are mostly on the west coast and could probally tell you several that are within a couple hrs from your location. 3 buddy's of mine just bought the same type of trailers (18', tandem axle, brakes, full wooden floor, brake away kit,and light too) for a little under $1600 brand new. Super nice too. All each of them did was to add a utility box on the front for storage. But I doubt you would want to drive 2000mi to get one.
Good luck.

dog-man
thanks for the reply dave
no- i wouldn't drive 2000 miles to get much of anything
big tex trailers doesn't show prices on their web that i could see. i wanted to get a new price so i can figure what a used one is worth. i will be towing with my 79 chev van- it's a heavy 1/2 but called a 20 series. just has an extra leaf and 5 lugs. i've towed 24' and 30' travel trailers and my jeep with it. already has the trailer brake set-up. eventually will be getting a motorhome to tow with.

Here's one in Avondale, I don't know how close you are but it seems like a pretty good deal. <a target="_blank" href=http://adcache.equipmenttraderonline.com/9/7/2/25773172.htm>http://adcache.equipmenttraderonline.com/9/7/2/25773172.htm</a>

Here's a company in Phoenix <a target="_blank" href=http://www.suncountrytrailers.com/onecartrailer.html>http://www.suncountrytrailers.com/onecartrailer.html</a>

I'm in the market also, you might want to periodically check ebay, they seem to have some pretty good deals on trailers, unfortunatly, they are out of my driving range.

Re: jeep hauler needed- need info

I bought one a few years ago when I was into drag racing. It had a diamond plate floor with built in tie downs, dovetail, no sides, surge brakes so any one can pull it ect. I sunk about $1900 in it but it worked alot better than the utility trailer it replaced.

Go to the races and ask around, they will tell you where the best deals are to be had. They know since they have to trailer the cars.
