All: Is this a good idea Or not

I'm thinking of getting a 1" Shackle lift, along with a 1" body lift, and Skyjacker add-a-leafs at 1"-2" lift. I could get some longer shocks (used) and a t-case lowering kit. Should i do this or just invest $450 in a 3" lift with everything.

After having a 1.25" shackle lift myself on my old YJ, I advise you to stay away from them. I liked having the extra height and overall my steering was OK, but on wavy or bumpy roads the castor problem can send you in the ditch. It becomes very hard to control the Jeep. As far as add-a-leaf, everybody I've talked to says that they make the ride stiff as a board. I'd say go with a 3 or 4" suspension lift. Preferrably BDS.

This is a funny post because from what is under your name I thought you had a very developed jeep. Glad to see you modding though, am not attacking you just thought it was funny.

gryphon, haha I thought he was the owner of the famous skyjacker jeep. I was about to lobby for some free 9 inch springs. All I know about your question is stay away from Procomp stuff. Way too stiff. You would probably be better getting better springs, in the long run you'd probably be paying the same amount. They're not that expensive

Do not do add a leafs on a Jeep. Way too stiff and eventually they will cost you a lot of money-like mine did. They will bust body mounts, crack frames etc. Buy a good 3-4" lift. I went with Old Man Emu but they are lower than that and are pricey but good.

The shackles aren't bad but on road your steering can get messed up. I would go with a suspension lift, just don't get pro comp. I'm about ready to take mine off and do an SOA. It depends on what kind of wheelin you plan on doing and what kind of tires you want to run.
