Tire sizes on stock wheels...

I have a 2002 Sport with the stock Canyon 30" tire/wheel package. I would like to replace the stock tires with a more radical set and I am thinking about the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. The size I am looking at are the 31x10.5R-15's and I am wondering if anyone here knows if they will fit without any modifications to the Jeep and also if they are a good tire.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

they should fit fine with the stock setup. i have heard of people having rubbing problems w/really wide rims and tires, but you should be ok. oh yeah fill out your profile

They will fit on the stock wheels, and work well. The steering stops will have to be moved, you can either get some new bolts or just put washers under the old ones (the nuts are welded to the bolts).

As to if they are a good tire, I have run with a bunch of people owning them, and except for mud (well, our kind of mud specifically), they do work well.

Re: Tire sizes on stock wheels...

Hello, Bull here from CT. Where in RI are ya? My wife just got a 2002 TJ sport. Afeter a month we put on BFG AT's 31"x10.50x15 on AR 767 15x8" wheels. They do not rub at all. Might be cause its an AT tire, but it fits nice and looks great. If you want check out www.ctjeep.org for a lot of ct wheelers and check oout my pics in the photo albumn under Bull's CJ7. LAter, Bull.
