Re: painting the stock fender flares????

I used Mar-Hyde Bumber black to paint a set of already painted flares I got from the junkyard to replace the melted (from grass fire) ones that came on my jeep. They ended up looking just like the black unpainted flares. After two years they still look good.

However, the junkyard flares didn't come with the short extensions for the front flares, so I had to reuse the original ones that weren't painted. I painted them to match after using a scotch brite on them, but the MAR-Hyde eventually peeled off. There's still such a good match between the painted and the unpainted that I just left them.

So, the Mar-Hyde looks good, but you may need to use primer on unpainted flares.
