Brake light

Fixed the brakes on my son's Scrambler (ripped off a hard line) and now the brake failure light is on 100%, anyone know how to reset it?

Re: Brake light

I guarantee that you didn't hook the line up to the proportioning valve located on the driver's side framerail above the skidplate. I made the same mistake, but never fixed it - my Jeep stops great so I never bothered. Others will tell you to fix it, it's your choice. I didn't have problems so I left well enough alone.

Re: Brake light

The switch on the porportioning valve is a grounding switch.
Left unhooked, the "Brake" lamp in your speedo will not light unless the wire to the switch is shorted to ground.

Re: Brake light

I was referring to the brake line itself, not the switch. It's pretty easy to miss the proportioning valve altogether when running new hard line, esp. if it's really greasy or muddy.
