CJ: What/Where for check engine light on CJ dash??

I was wondering what some have used for a check engine light on a CJ. I have a Howell TBI and need to install a light. I don't really want to drill a hole in my newly painted dash. Has anyone installed a light into the speedo cluster? Where else have you installed them?

Thanks,
Tom

What about corner on windshield frame, or make a little bracket to hang from the bottom of the dash and then double stick tape it to the bottom of the dash. or the top of teh steering column. do any of your cluster lights not work? my "QUAD" light doesn't, I'd probably run mine to there. Hell, I know when I'm in 4WD, why do I need a damn light to tell me

Has anyone seen those lighted bolts? I can't remember where I saw them, but they are a bolt or bolt cap that has a light built in. I could use one to replace one of my dash plate bolts.

Thanks,

I think I saw those ina JC Whitney Mag. If not you could probably make one from a small light from radio shack, a bolt and a drill with a vice.

Cool idea!

Oh wait, here you go, this should work:

Thanks,

I actually remember where I first saw them. It was on one of Doug's CBracks. I went to http://www.cbrack.com and ordered a couple of the amber lights. They are the same threads as the CJ dash plate. I will swap one in for one of the bolts near the column.

Later,
