High volume power steering pump for TJ?

Has anyone tried out the high volume P.S. pumps for the TJ? I know AGR makes a higher output stock pump -- does anyone else? What about gpm? Will they really put out more than the stock pump? Is there a stock pump from another vehicle that will bolt up and puts out a little more juice?

Thinking about getting one for the mile marker hydraulic winch. From the looks of it, any more GPM would be well worth it.

Thanks

John

Go <a target="_blank" href=http://www.members.tripod.com/surfmac/html66>here</a> for how to modify your pump for volume and pressure.

Re: High volume power steering pump for TJ?

I had to find your homepage to get the link to work right....

Anyway,

The TJ has a different P.S. pump than the CJ. That pump pictured is the P type Saginaw -- and those suckers will put out some juice. The TJ pump is the Saginaw TC.... I don't think the mods work the same way... If this works the same for the TJ pump -- that would be cool, but I get the feeling that its not the same.

Thanks

John

It's not my page, it's W.C.'s page (Pyro). Just search for "pyro" and go to his homepage.

Re: High volume power steering pump for TJ?

Here is the response I just got back from AGR. It looks like their TJ/YJ replacement pumps do put out a good it more than the stock TJ/YJ pump, but it is not like their big Super P type pumps.

Our TC-series Super Pump delivers 3.5 GPM and will produce 1500 psi. Stock
pump should be about 2.5 GPM at 1250 psi.
