What is a good Paint?

I am nearing the completion of my Bulletproof Bumper wannabe and am about ready to paint it. I am thinking of using Hammerite spray paint, but don't know too much about it. Anyone ever use the stuff? Got any better ideas. I am loloking to get something on there that will stand up half decent to a lot of wear. The finance minister has put the brakes on getting it powder coated for now. Maybe in the future!

Re: What is a good Paint?

I used rustoleum "hard hat" paint from Home Depot. I just used plain black. It is cheap, and you can tuch it up whenever you want. Make sure you put a good coat of primer on any bare metal. It will help the paint stick much better. There are some pics of my painted bumpers on the Scrambler Buildup page on my website.

Re: What is a good Paint?

I used the Hammerite on my roll bar, and I really liked it.

Re: What is a good Paint?

I vote For Hammertite...

It's easy to apply.
It's easy to touch up.
It looks good.
It comes in colo(u)rs.
It is hard as nails.
It is a rust preventitive.

It's just hard to find.. True Value sell, stocks, and can get the stuff.... If not try www.hammerite.com They'll locate the nearest store... and you can grill the manager from that point.

Opps... I may be emailed about "selling" Hammertie.... Forget everything I just said.....
