4.0L Head conversion Q\'s

I have decided to give the 4.0L head conversion a shot.... I think. I'm rebuilding an 80 258 and am considering the head conversion. The head I want, it is from an 86-90 242 (4.0L)? How much should I look to pay for one? Is it a pretty strait forward swap or are there any great problems I'll run into? Any web pages or better, anybody who has done this swap will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the time to respond

Re: 4.0L Head conversion Q\'s

There's really no point to swapping in a 90 or earlier 4.0L head. They are almost identical in port design to the 4.2L head. You'll want to use a 91 or later unit. Prices vary, but I paid $150 for mine. For more info, check out John F.'s page http://www.monsterslayer.com/jeep. Tim W. did a nice write-up of the Q&A's for the swap that's posted there.
