Torque converter fluid
I just bought a torque converter for my turbo 350 and just need to know what fluid to fill it with and how much to put in. Any help would be great thanks.

Re: Torque converter fluid
Um, is this a trick question? Dexron III ATF. A quart should be enough.

Re: Torque converter fluid
WHAT?
Agreed on the DEX III....but a QUART? Damn...I'm not much for GMs, but we Chrysler guys usually use 4 or 5 quarts when changing the trans fluid, and at least that much more with a new torque converter.... -remy |
Re: Torque converter fluid
My TH400 took 8 (or 9?) quarts with a drain converter.

Re: Torque converter fluid
I thought he was asking how much to put in the torque converter before installing it into the tranny. Yeah, it will take several quarts to fill the trans after installing the trans.
