T-18 Swap

I have an 88 YJ with a 258, BA/10, NP231 combo in it. The 258 is built up pretty good and I am happy with it, the NP231 is short shafted and has an almost new chain in it so I want to keep both of these components, what I want to do is swap a Ford T-18 into it. I have 4.09 gears in Waggy Dana 44 axles running 33s, I would still be able to run 60 comfortably without OD, and that is fine because it isnt a daily driver and I will have a trailer for it soon. Does anyone know what would be involved in this, I think I can use a CJ T-18 bell housing and clutch fork. I can build my own hydraulic clutch setup, but how do I mate it to the NP231 without spending $$$$ for an Advanced Adapters part. I know that there are other swaps that would be easier, I have a AX-15 sitting at home in my shed that I was going to swap in but the t-18s 6.34 first gear brings a huge smile to my face. Thanks for reading this long post.

Re: T-18 Swap

find a 81-83 J20 with a T18 and itll have a 5 inch adapter on teh back that will fit a 23 spline New process transfer case, Note that I have no idea what the spline count is on your Tcase, it might be 23 or 21 or somethging else!

But those are VERY hard to find, and pretty long.

You pretty much have to pay the $$$$ for the adapter.

its a littel cheaper than AA shows if you order from a distributer, A buddy of mone got one for right around $400 and some change to go Ford T18 to Dana 300
