Hammerite ?

I want to paint my cage with Hammerite, but I can't find where it is sold. Where does everyone buy there's at? Is there a good chain store (Napa, or even Walmart) that sells it. I've heard tons of stuff about it but I've never seen it in stores. Thanks for any leads.

Re: Hammerite ?

I picked up spray cans at a Menards Lumberyard/Hardware Chain. Also found it at a Carquest Auto Parts Store - all in Minnesota.

Re: Hammerite ?

Who makes it? I found hammered and hammerblack at wal-mart and lowe's. is it the same stuff? it's made by rustoleum and has a texture to it. The can say's it seals out all moisture, like hammerite.

Re: Hammerite ?

Hammerite is made by MasterChem, I believe. They also make Kilz, which is sold in most every Home Depot-type store. You can order it by mail from Hamilton Marine, 1-800-639-2715. I found it at a True Value hardware store.. Call around to True Value and/or local paint stores.. True Value should be able to order it for you.

Re: Hammerite ?

Thanks, I've used the Hammered stuff from Walmart and although it is quite stong, I want the good stuff. I was hoping that a national chain carried it. I'll keep looking and asking.

Re: Hammerite ?

I just picked up a couple of cans that I ordered from the local True Value. I am trying the gloss black versus the hammered black.

Re: Hammerite ?

If you go to the masterchem website, they have a 800 number you can call, then they tell you the nearest supplier. That's how I found mine!!
