exhaust damage + fumes entering Jeep!

Today I was out wheeling and I ripped my exhaust off for the F* ing 3rd time. It always seems to come off directly after the muffler before it goes over the rear axle. I just grabbed the tail pipe and kept going. But when I headed home the fumes started to recirculate back into the jeep.

I was down at the auto parts store today and saw they sold some 90 bend exhaust pieces, and was thinking I should just buy one of those and clamp it on running the exhaust out the side before the rear tire. Easy and cheap.

What do you think? Will I still get fumes in the jeep?

I am doing a V8 soon so I will get a new exhaust system then.

I don't know about fumes other than it's got to be better than no tailpipe at all. But it's not a good deal for offroad; it'll get knocked off even easier than the stock pipe.
