Picked up 37\" MT/R\'s today

Went into a local Discount Tire to order the 37"s and the guy said a kid order a set but couldn't pay for them, so I got them w/o having to wait. 175.00 a tire and the free hazard deal. Now the fun part of unbolting the locks pulling the 35's off and getting to re-torque all those bolts.
Things are big unmounted

And a pretty good tread depth

I just called this morning to the Tallahasse Discount Tire to see if my 37's were in, unfortunatly, they weren't, I was told that hopefully by Wednesday they'll be in. I'll end up picking them up next weekend, with any luck.

Gota love those MTR's.
I picked up a set of 5, 35Ē MTRís with 3,000 miles on them for 130.00 a tire, they look good as new. The guy was mounting his new 37's when I picked up the 35's.
I tested them today in mud, snow, rocks, loose dirt, and a couple of hill climbs, and was very impressed with the traction. They are a very soft compound though and will probably wear out fast.

Here they are compared to the 35" Marshall MT I am taking off. They are quite soft compared to any other tire I have felt, the lugs just twist in your fingers. The Mt/R is still un-mounted, so doesn't look very wide.

And at least one mounted.

good deal but i have a question. why? there is no doubt that the mtr's will perform in the rocks however everyone i have met around here say they suck in the mud and on loose hill climb. the reason i bring this up to you is because you are from washington and we all know the trails are slick there. just curious.

I wanted something a bit taller and thought I would try them out. I prefer rocks and all else to mud, so I really only tackle it if it is on the way thru the trail (no mudbogging, intentionally looking for mud, etc). Except for lack of sidewall traction the Marshall MT's do great for the trails around here (better than TSL's in some places/conditions) and a friend liked the 33" MT/R's around here a lot, so I thought why not, if I don't like them I can go back to the Marshall's or something else and sell these. Comapring the Marshalls to the MT/R's, I found the MT/R's sidewall to be quite a bit thicker but stiffer, deeper softer tread and sidewall traction.

My MTR's perform great in the mud. In fact they perform better than my BFG MT's. I have never had Swampers so I can't compare.

you may like them. i am just going off of what people i have run with have experienced. i have never run them myself. i am still a swamper man myself. if i lived out west and crawled dry rock all the time i might consider switching though.
