4.2 mopar fuel injection

Does the 4.2 kit use the stock 4.2 exhaust manifold? Does it use a stock 4.0 intake? Wondering if these two items are compatible on the head.

My idea is to use a 4.0 intake and the megasquirt controller.

Advantage, it uses the stock distributor signal so you can set timing as you like an avoid the detonation problems of the 4.0 kit, plus it looks lower cost, avoiding the crank sensor for timing or timing dampner.

Re: 4.2 mopar fuel injection

The 4.0 intake will bolt to a 4.2 head. Exhaust manifolds are not interchangeable, but your '84 manifold will continue to work with your head. IMO the best way to avoid the pinging problems attributed to the MPI kit, is to use a 4.0 head.

Re: 4.2 mopar fuel injection

I'm thinking mighty hard about the Megaaquirt as well.. Real nice system.
I am concerned, however, about fuel puddling up in the intake manifold if the stock injectors are being used.
Since Megasquirt doesnt "time" the injectors to the valve train, the injectors will most likely fire into a closed intake valve, and this concerns me.
