KIck down linkage probems ( I think)

I recently completed a 360 conversion (mated to my stock TF 999) and I can't seem to get the trans to shift right. I used the stock grand wagoneer kick down linkage for a TF 727 and it seemed to fit okay. I have adjusted the linkage as the manual states and it shifts really soft and won't down shift when I stomp on the gas. Will it hurt anything in the trans if I tighten up the linkage some? Any other suggestions?

Also, I used the stock TF999 troque converter, not the TF727 converter (which I still have). Would this cause a problem?

Thanks Shawn

No idea on teh converter.
BUT ont eh kickdown, the trans will live long happy if you tighten that linkage until you CANT stand it, then baclk off but only a hair!

You can get it so tight itll downshift on deceleration and chirp the tires, might help your engine braking this way.

tighter tighter!
