Hood protection, how different are tj hoods vs. cj

hey all,

I am able to get a "front Euro Guard from Quadratec" for a TJ. I am not paying for it. I have been wanting to make a hood hoop like we've been seeing so that the radiator is protected.

I realize the tj and cj are different. I have a welder and can "resize" it if have to.

Any body see any problems that I am going to come to? How strong will this be? I am also considering adding some tubing supports from the hoop to my front bumper so its going to be bolted to my winch plate and attached to my bumper.

I would be bolting this to my homemade winch plate which is 1/2" steel plate. As close to the grill as possible. Than weld in Supports on both sides to the bumper or something.

Any comments? Thanks.

The only thing I can say for sure is that the CJ hood sits quite a bit higher than the TJ. I live in an apartment and park right next to my neighbors CJ. The front bumpers and fenders sit at about the same height and the hood is 3 or 4 inches higher on his CJ.

Can you get a picture off Quadratec's website that shows us what you're talking about?
