Trashed Dana44

Here is some pics of the ring & Pinion from my buddys D44.. It's off his 2000 TJ Sahara..

This was after a trip to a construction site to do a little mud running.. The odd part is that it didn't let go until a couple days later while just touring through town.. The esataimate was around $3000 CDN to repair from chrysler, but he ended up getting it through warranty..

Re: Trashed Dana44

Actually the story isn't that great.. It's stotally stock except for a set or 31x10.5x15 BFG MTs.. He was running it pretty hard through the mud, but it was fairly smooth ground.. He has had a couple people tell him that from the pics it looks like it wasn't wearing properly, therefore wasn't setup properly to begin with..

When this happens tough, doesn't it generally happen while in the act, and not 2 days later??

As for the price, I couldn't beleive it my self.. I told him that if the try to make him pay for it, them to tell them to take it back out, and go to the local 4x4 shop, and replace it with a ford 9", it would only be about half that price..

Re: Trashed Dana44

Hey for all you R&P guys, is that a visible pattern on the ring gear? Does it look like the contact was to the high end(toe..I think??). Or is that the way the ring wears?
