poly motor mounts

I would have checked search but... Anyone replace the factory motor mounts( should be engine mounts/ motors are electric with poly mounts on a TJ? How long do they last? My factory rubber has about 130k on them and when I shut the engine the drive train and exhaust shake.

Re: poly motor mounts

Are you sure its the motor mounts? Might it just be a catalytic converter heat sheild that has gone awry? My best friend's TJ just got its cat replaced under warranty for that problem...its a 98, he dirves it like an old lady, and only has about 35,000 miles on it.....

Re: poly motor mounts

I had poly motor mounts and I didn't like them at all. The engine vibration was transfered right to the frame and amplified inside the cab.

just my $.02

Re: poly motor mounts

It's not the heat shield. I can shake the rear driveshaft side to side and everything moves(engine,tranny,t-case,exhaust)about an inch each side of center. I replaced the t-case mout @ 3 months ago. It helped a little but now it's worse. All nuts and bolts are tight. Also my warranty ran out 30k ago.
