engine electrical fried

I drove to my friends house yesterday in my 88 YJ and saw smoke come out from under my hood when I pulled in. It smelled like plastic or rubber. Popped the hood and sure enough theres all the wires melted to the 258's intake manifold. Half of them aren't connected to anything since I put the Weber 32/36 carb in. So my question is, what wires are "ok" to remove from the engine without effecting the way it runs, which is pretty good for right now. Off the top of my head I figure that the O2 sensor and the wire going to the choke on the carb should stay. Anything else?(besides ignition wires, obviously)
