Wandering after hitting a bump

I have an 80 cj7 that has 31" wheels with a 4" lift. When I drive the jeep on the road it wanders after hitting even a minor bump. Waht could that be caused by? Also, I do not have the swaybar connected if that is any help

You might want to do a search for "bump steer".
A dropped pitman arm and a good stablizer shock might help.

beat me to the punch(The symptom you are observing is called “bump steer”. Search the internet, you’ll find lots of stuff.)
One of the major contributors is the drag link to tie rod angle. If the drag link is parallel to the tie rod you would have very little bump steer. The “drop pitman arm” is used to help reduce this angle by lowering the drag link. I am no expert, because I have the same problem and haven’t fixed it yet. I’ve been told that my problem is caster angle.
