Does this sound right? SOA conversion

I have an 86 CJ7. It allready is lifted 6" with a SUA. I am ordering a set of JCWhitney rear CJ springs the 7 leaf ones for all four corners. I allready have the whole high steering setup. I called a local shop to see what they would charge to install the springs SOA. $2500 labor??? They said this would include new shock towers and a four link rear but no parts at all. They told me that a SOA will not work with out a four link rear. This is a pretty reputable shop here in town.

I was under the impression that I could get this done for a lot less money. I also was not planning on a four link rear. Anyone in the Phoenix Arizona area know someone who can help me out on this for less money?

Don't know of any shops down there, but you don't need a 4 link, triangulated traction bar yes, 4 link no.

I thought about it for a minute, and maybe they mean four link as in each leaf spring as 1 & 2, then the two attachment for the traction bar as 3 & 4, walla 4 link.

If you go to any of the bigger shops expect to pay that or more for a 4 link. You don't need a 4 link though. Try Arizona Trailwerks on grand avenue. I had inquired there about some suspension work a litle over a year ago and they were resonable.

There are tons of small fab shops that can help you out.

Go here. <a target="_blank" href=http://www.azvjc.org>www.azvjc.org</a>

Join this group and ask the same question there. I am sure you will get lots of different answers. You might be able to find someone who has done it before to help you do it yourself.
