I need a Short Input shaft for a T-18! Anyone????

First year of college is comming to a fast end. I can't wait to get home and build that 360 and mate it to the T-18. One problem though. I need the short input shaft off a ford T-18. Do any of you have one that you would be willing to sell or know where I could get one. I forget where but somewhere makes a T-18 short input shaft kit. I am really not that falilar with this so if any of you have a website or some sort of write up what I need. Thanks a lot.

You can usually find a complete Ford 2wd T18 for $50-$150 in a junkyard, then you have ALL the parts needed ( minus new bearings/seals) and ALOT of spare parts.

The internals should be the same.
I got my T18 from a 1973 Ford Pick up.

check out www.hicks4x4.com, they have a kit, or Jim's Offroad, do a search too! Do you already have the correct bellhousing? I need to get one for a T-176, I'm going to sell my T-5 with the bellhousing(got to get rid of it some how!).

IN a FORD truck of course, 1/2 ton and on up.

2wd or 4wd will get you you the same input shaft.

inline 6 cylinder or smaller V8, make sure you dont get a T19 from a deisel aplication ( mid 80s)

No one has a spare Ford T-18 that they are trying to get rid of just the input shaft? What else out of the ford do I need besides the shaft?

You need the Ford shaft and front bearing retainer. Another source for these parts is R&P 4 WD Parts Inc. at 503-557-8911. They stock parts for T-18's from shafts and bearing retainers to output shafts and adapters. Nickmil.
