Coil Wire?

I got a set of 4.0L MSD 8.5mm wires for my 86CJ 258. The problem is I am running a a canister coil and the coil wire does not fit. What should I buy for a coil wire? Is bigger better, ie. 11mm vs. 8.5mm?

Re: Coil Wire?

Just buy a TFI coil and the problem is solved.

Re: Coil Wire?

8.5mm is fine. The set of wires I got came with two types of coil wires, one for a cannister and one for a TFI style coil. You might be able to get the right wire at your parts store, or exchange your set for a set that comes with both style coil wires. Just for reference, my wires are Borg Warner.

Re: Coil Wire?

See why I preach the MSD gospel?
You always go away satisfied.
Would you hesitate in buying a MSD module now?

Keep that little tool they send you!
It doesn't look like much, but they are REAL handy when you are doing plug wires... and that's most anyone's plug wires, not just MSD...
