bronco carb

I was looking back through some of my older 4wd mags, and noticed that some of the older Broncos in the early 70's were equipped with a 350 cfm carb, I used a mc2100 from a 80 J10, with the 1.08 cast on theside which I have assumed to mean 450 cfm, I really enjoy the performance of my MC2100 but notice that it runs a little rich, has anybody tried this smaller carb, or would it be worth swapping at all.
Thanks for any info.
