can someone please give me step by step directions to post a pic w/out clicking on it? maybe put it in comic strip form so my stupid a$$ can figure it out. i know this has been beat to death lately, but i'm still having trouble. need help before my monitor takes flying lessons!

if it aint broke, the pedal is on the right

upload a pic in the "test" section

then when you make your post(in the regular forum) open a new window that you can go to your pic in the test section

on the address bar copy the address of the pic

in your post (regular forum) type in this

(image) then right click and "paste" the address (/image)
you have to use the [ and ] not ( and)

so it will look like this but WITH NO SPACES in it
[ image ]www.whateverpic.jpg[/ image ]

try it[img]/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif[/img]

By checking your profile I found a pic that you attached to a post here http:// http://bbs.off-road.com/wwwt...5&Old=allposts
If you open your attachment and right click on it a little pop up will appear, click on properties, another pop up will appear with the url address in the center, high light the address and copy it. Here is the copied address from your attachment >> http://bbs.off-road.com/wwwthreads_u...987-Jam012.jpg
Then you can go back to your post and click on the edit button, then you can paste the copied address to your post like this >>(image)http://bbs.off-road.com/wwwthreads_uploads/9-703987-Jam012.jpg(/image)
Just replace these( ) with [ ] and the pic will show up in your post like this

Skellator, that kind of confused me...

Here is how I do it.
(Note: Follow just one set of these instructions. Either one of us will work, it's just what your more comfortable with.)


1- Make a post, when you are done typing, check "I want to preview my post and/or attack a file." Click "Continue"

2- Find that file. Click attach.

3- View your post. It should have the writing in it, and have a blue link under your name that says "Attachment."

4- Right click on that link, and select. "Copy Shortcut."

5- On the right hand side of your post select "Edit"

6- When you are back in your post to edit it, find where you want your picture to appear, and slap "Enter" or "Return" a few times to make some space.

7- Type in (image) then right click just behind the closing bracket, and select "Paste". after the address that comes up type (/image) ...

YOU MUST NOT USE "(" ")" (Brackets.) You must use the "[" "]" SQUARE BRACKETS.

At the bottom of the post click the "Change this post button."

If you did it all right it will work.

(When we post to tell you how to do this, if we use [ ] (SQUARE BRACKETS) it would try to insert an image. Therefore we use () (ROUND BRACKETS) to explain.
