OT-One Bad Dodge!

Sorry for the non-Jeep post guys, but I was over at the Dodge board and this creation really caught my eye! I know it wont fit down a twisty trail, but three rockwells with lockers on a functioning truck is just too cool to ignore! I'm a bit of a Dodge fan as well as Jeeps.

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

Hmmmm.....somebody got tired of waiting for Dodge and built their own T-Rex! Looks like fun.

Sadly, we probably will be seeing less of the realy Beefy/Brawny concept trucks coming from DC now. Look what they did to the poor Ram 1500 for 2002....

It's all a state of mind, and if you don't mention the state of my mind, I'll be happy to overlook yours!

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

Skelator, Dodge kinda' whimped out to the socker mom crowd that seems to think they NEED a truck...but trucks ride "so bad" that they whined. Dodge then came up with the ultimate socker mom pickup...Crew cab, short box, bright headlights (doesent sound bad so far) and UGH independent front suspension. Dodge has left the faithful truck crowd behind and caved in to people who should be driving mini-vans to build a "kinder-gentler" truck. At least they havent changed the solid axle of the 3/4 and one ton trucks ...yet.

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

I'm not trying to support dodge topics, but have you seen the '03 dodge ss or sst or something like that...anyway it's a 1500 with the V10...it's the not the truck V10 either...it's the viper v10 with a six speed transmission. Fast trucks are always cool...

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

One question what's with the doughnuts on those rockwells? they should be running at least a set of 44's.

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

I don't know blaster, I kinda like the tall and skinny look. 'Course, my '76 Highboy was running 7.50-16's and I'm putting 33x 10.50s on my CJ. Hmmmmm.....and gramps' old M37 was running those gawdawful tall military bar tread tires.....

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

I would be wiling to bet that the choice of tire size was dictated by the amount of space between the rear axles.
There is no room for 44's with the rear axles mounted as they are.
I kind of like the tires that are on it now.
Besides, having to buy 6 44's would probably double the cost of the project.

Re: OT-One Bad Dodge!

Yeah Alec, I gues it's not a bad "Sporty Truck" and a 2WD version with a std. cab and a Viper motor would be way cool, especially with the 20" wheels and maybe lowered a couple inches. Dodge has just gone the wrong way for the HD truck crowd...but I guess a 1500 isn't really a HD truck anyways. I didn't mean to flame Dodge in the post, I am a die hard MoPar fan and will own them for the rest of my life...It just scares me that they may be considering this IFS setup for the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks as well.
