i did a search but didn't find a direct comparison...
they are both LSD's going in my front D30.

the spicer powerlok is a clutch drive and the truetrac uses gears.

powerloc= $479
truetrac= $339

money would not be an issue if the spicer had better reviews.

From what I've read, I would go with the truetrac if you want close to a locker without going to a true locker. Since it doesn't have clutches, it shouldn't loosen up with wear.

A buddy of mine has put enough new clutches in his posi to pay for a true-track, which I have in mine and never had a problem with.

yeah, some guys are for the true trac and others are not. guess there's no easy answer. i was looking at drivetrain direct and they have a chart with a rating on each locker with respect to :
street
off-road
towing
durability

rated 1 thru 4, 4 being the best


true trac
street=4
off-road=2
towing=3
durability=2



powerloc
street=4
off-road=3
towing=3
durability=3.5


this study would lean towards the powerlok
