Need help locating water leak

Hey folks....
I need some advice on finding a water leak on my engine. I have an 88 YJ with a 1998 Chevy Vortec V6 (TBI). After driving the jeep for a little while and looking under the hood there is no water anywhere. After the motor starts to cool, little drops of water begins to form on the front of the oil pan and on the bottom of the starter.

Here is what I have checked:
hoses and connections,
weep hole and water pump mounting surfaces,
thermostat mounting surfaces,
puke bottle and hose and drain,
temp sending unit,
freeze plugs,
drain plugs.

I can sometimes see water and antifreeze around the mounting bolts for the timing chain cover but there is a trail from higher up on the motor. The "valley" on the top of the motor is dry. No overheating problems.

Any suggestions? Can I get dye to check this out? Could it be the infamous ceramic GM intake leaking at the gasket? It is not bad now but it gets a little worse every week.

From where you are describing the trail coming from, I would suspect possible head gasket seepage.

Do a compression test. Low pressure in two cylinders that are next to each other will indicate a blown head gasket. Do you have antifreeze in your oil? If it's coming from the oil pan area, I would suspect that you'd have milky oil. Another thing to try is tracer dye. GM makes a good one, you should be able to get it at any dealer. You'll need a black light to illuminate it.

I'm boycotting sigs. If ya wanna see what I have, check my profile.

No milky oil on the dipstick. I thought tracer dye was only good in motor oil. Are there different types for different fluids?

Will antifreeze glow with a black light as is??

I know how to change a head gasket or intake gasket, but I am always a little unsure of something that I have only done once!!
