What to do with the cash?

Hey all. I just sold some old things I had lying around and have about 1000.00 clams to spend on the CJ. I already have my winch, lift, tires and am trying to figure out the next upgrade. Should I go with new gears, a 1 piece, and a locker of some sort, herculine the tub, buy a new soft top? The 5 has a new 4" suspension lift and new 33" Bfg MT's. I don't know what to do with the cash but I know I would like to do something to benefit the Jeep with it. What would you guys do? I even thought about doing some stuff to the stock 304. I dunno. Any ideas? I think I will spend a little and buy myself a decent digital camera, but there will still plent left over.

Re: What to do with the cash?

I just put on a set of Revolver shackles on the rear of my CJ. $150 and they work great, definitely a lot more droop out of the rear springs.

I would go Gears and a locker ! What kind of Axle do you have, maybe a new "bigger" one would be a nice upgrade.

Re: What to do with the cash?

Go with gears and lockers! but you said 1 piece so that means you have a Model 20 rearend....Find a Dana 44 or a Ford 9" rearend and lock it up.

waiting on the 1-tons!

Roll cage would be my number one priority if you don't already have one.If you do then lockers depending on what you have at present as far as rear end or front end.

Take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.

Re: What to do with the cash?

Full roll cage for sure, then i'd say go with 1 pieces in the rear (if 35's are as big as you will go in the future), then gears (4.56's?) and a detroit in the rear, maybe a lockright in front. And then when the cash allows either upgrade to warn alloy axles or a d44 front. Also if you have narrow track axles i'd go with wide tracks now so you don't spend money twice. If you want to run 38's or larger i'd say maybe add lockrights, get some spare shafts and then save your money for d60's.

Re: What to do with the cash?

ROLL CAGE!!! I would upgrade everything that I could and never thought to much about a cage, had a little scare last year with my 2 year old girl and the next weekend I had a cage. You get a great sense of safety with it when you have your kids with you on a run in the boonnies.
