With the new D44 my CJ7 will now steer a little farther before the tires get to the fenderwell. The limiting factor is now the tie rod, and I can fudge that to get a little more steering, which raises the question; what's the limit to the steering angle before the strain gets too great on the U-joints?
My guess would be that every degree of steering reduces the strength of the joint a little, and it ultimately becomes a question of how much loss can be tolerated. Has anyone ever seen any kind of chart or graph on the subject?
I might have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.
