who makes the best 1\" body lift?

I'm going to do a 1" body lift to clear a little more room for my rear quarters and also get the headers from touching the firewall in my CJ-7 with 5.0HO. Who makes the best kit? I'm expecting rusted and broken bolts removing the old mounts. Do I use stock body mounts with spacers, or go with 1" taller mounts?

I really like the Daystar body lifts. They are very complete, (bolts, washers, etc) replace the whole mount and are made of polythane so they hold up really well. I put one on my last CJ5 and it was really nice. Hope this helps.

The Daystar kit is probably the way to go if you are replacing the mounts. But, if you just want to install a lift and don't need mounts, you can just order the 1" aluminum pucks from MORE, you can buy your own bolts. Thats the cheapest way to go, its what I did a couple years ago.

You know, I checked into one of the manufacturers lifts. All it was was a piece of aluminum cut to go over your original rubber mounts (provided that they were in good condition). So, for the price, I went and purchased a length of aluminum and cut it to length, drilled the hole and mounted them over the rubber mounts with longer bolts. Works fine. Also try the boat roller method.

I'll throw in another vote for the Daystar 1" body lift.

I have the Daystar on my CJ , good complete kit . Whatever you buy make sure it has everything you need . Most other kits dont come with the sleeves inside the stock donuts and it`s off to the DC dealer to get hosed good for them . The old stuff is usually not useable because of years of rusting .

I wouldn't trade my MORE 1". Great quality.

If you need new mounts, use Daystar, I did and was very happy with how it looked as well as the quality.

Re: who makes the best 1\" body lift?

I just installed the Daystar 1" on a 78 CJ7. Was a great kit because all the old mounts were shot (rubber, bolts, sleeves). Highly recommend it.
