started building own driveshaft

i've bent or twisted off i think 3 front driveshafts in the last 2 years....mainly because i've been running the stock jeep 1" or so tube shafts, and they just aint beefy enough....BUT i don't have clearance to run anything larger in diameter. i've thought about the square tubing stuff alot, but decided to make one from thick wall mild steel tubing.
i was going to go with .250 wall but it was just just to heavy, so 3/16" it is.
here's a picture of the slider i turned down to fit.

and also i started a page here http://www.geocities.com/lorimaryros...riveshaft.html
still have the other end to do but anyone got any other ideas?
