Re: options on cj ???

In the 70's, it was probably the golden eagle. In the 80's, it was probably a laredo or limited.

Re: options on cj ???

WILL's right, probably a Laredo if it's 80's. I've even seen some 80's Renegades with the tach/clock, although they may have been add-on's.

Re: options on cj ???

Mine's an 84 laredo and it came with the tach and clock. Only clock i've seen that's 17+ years old and still keeps good time. Tach is dead when I first start up, then if you tap it or hit a light bump, the needle springs to life.

Re: options on cj ???

My '83 Laredo has the tach and clock and they BOTH still work. The clock keeps perfect time and the tach works without any problems.

Re: options on cj ???

I have a 79 golden eagle and the clock and tach are both dead. The clock hasn't worked in the 7 years I've had it and the tach worked until the MSD upgrade. It just needs the MSD tach adapter.

Re: options on cj ???

Mine is a 78 CJ5 Golden Eagle with good tach and dead clock. I did not realize that the clock/tach combo was so rare.

Re: options on cj ???

I got my clock working again yesterday just by spraying the inside real good with penetrating oil. If yours doesn't look rusted inside when you look in the hole the light goes in, you might try that.
