There's a place called slade's park in Surry, VA. It in the Newport News, Norfolk, VA Beach area. Try www.sladespark.com There's a fee per vehicle, but overall it's a good time.

I am in more in the mountains of VA close to Charlottesville. The George Washington National forest is only an hour drive. I don't know much about them though. There are some trails real close to my house that I know clubs have run they are in the park also. I have done them; I rather do something different for a change.

Tech, right? I've been there for a few parties! I have some friends who graduated from there...anyway, there are several ORV places in the George Washington National Forest. I don't know which ones you may have been to, but get a map from the forest service.

Josh,
I know a couple cavin' buddies in B'burg that wheel. I can ask them about some trails. You may have seen them before, a yellow CJ w/ 304 & sidepipes, POS early Bronco, or a gold/rust LandCruiser. All sporting reflective yellow/black "bat" stickers.

I think I have seen the CJ. There is an active club down here I just don't have my Jeep down yet. After spring break I will though. I just picked these days because I am home on spring break.

Re: Trail Rides in VA between March 1st-9th???

hay bubba our club just had a run up there last weekend. my cj is down right now (i'm lazy)so i took the wife's stock cherokee so it might not be too thrilling, that trail is referred to as "shoe creek" its south of c'ville on rt29 near lovingston. theres another trail up on north 29 in madison county. go up 29 take a left on 230w then a right on 613, i have not been there but my buddies did it and they said it is awesome. if you get on 64 west and go to harrisonburg take 33 west and go thru the town and about 8 miles out you'll come to the "dry river" section which has a few trails right off of 33. if you stay C'ville area much check out midatlanticjeepers.com for some of our get togethers(ussally for members and guests, come to a meetin and will let ya ride)we have some members starting a club up that way, also some jeep jamboree stuff is happening at oak ridge(nelson county)va.4wd does alot of trail clean-up(trailriding)for that event also not far in winchester we have a helluva good time at event held by bigdogsoffroad.com check out their website for info.
