YJ Lift ???

With 2.5" of lift would you have to change the drive shaft length, whould the tail shaft on the 231T case need to be replaced or would it work. How much can you lift a YJ before you run in to problems.

Re: YJ Lift ???

You would not need to change the length, however with a lift you need to consider driveshaft angle. And with a 2.5in lift you can probably go ether way, you could leave it alone and probably be ok. But you may run into drive line vibs. You could address the problem by using shims on your springs, or dropping the Tcase. Neather is all that hard to do.

Re: YJ Lift ???

I installed a 2.5" lift about a year ago on my ride, and althought it came with the pucks to lower the t-case, I tried to drive it without them first...and immediately turned around and put them in!! It vibrated like hell, but after lowering the t-case, if was fine. But I guess it defeats the purpose of lifting your rig in the first place, if you have to lower part of it to get it to work. One of these days I'm going to get one of those NP231 tailshaft kits so I can take those pucks back off.
