Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

I'll be painting my jeep soon..as the melted hardtop messed up too much of my paint.
Someone put a hoodscoop on my hood..only to have it crack the windshield.
I'm left with quite a few small holes, and two large ones.
I'd rather not do all the body work..
So I'm wondering if anyone has a hood in decent shape for a reasonable price..and does anyone else know how much it cost to ship a hood?
Thanks
Joey

Re: Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

Joey, if you can wait a couple of months, I'll give you the one from my '78 CJ7 for the shipping charges from St. Louis. It's got a couple of smallish dents in it, but no rust.

I might have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.

Ontario is very far away from Oklahoma, thanks though Pog.
That sounds like an excellent deal jim.Thats the same kinda jeep I have.
I can't take it for free though, I'll have to throw in some extra cash along with the shipping.
I appreciate the offer.
Do you know about how many months?I'll get everything else prepped first

Re: Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

DJ hoods are 3" shorter than CJ hoods. They never got the extended front clip that CJ's did get in '72.

Re: Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

I got an extra in pretty good shape. I'll sell it for $50 over shipping. Email me if your interested.

Re: Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

We can always argue about price. When I was a crazy kid I rebuilt engines and transmissions for beer. I just want to see you get whole again.

The stainless steel body is supposed to ship by the end of February. I figure six weeks on boats, trains and trucks. Once it gets here I hope to start taking the old one apart right away. Unfortunately that's just a guess.

I might have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.

Re: Anyone have a reasonably priced hood?

Alright jim.
In the meantime I'll mess with my hood.
If it looks hopeless without a ton of work(which I think it is..It wouldn't be TOO bad if the big holes back weren't blocked from putting something behind them.
I don't even know how I would go about filling them up (they are right above the box thing at the back of the hood)

Why are you replacing the body?
That would be nice to start out with a new stainless steel body
Let me know when you get your new body.
Thanks again
Joey
