I6 Tachometer w/ V8 ?

Just trying to finish my 258 to 304 swap in my 88 YJ. Need to get tach working correctly but not sure if it will. Thought I had seen an article somewhere on how to make the tach work w/ a V8, but can't find it now. Does anyone know how to do this or am I dreaming and should just get a new tach?

Some aftermarket tachs have a switch setting for cylinder count. Absent that I know of no way other than to cover the dial with a new set of numbers.

I might have been born at night, but it wasn't LAST night.
