Do I need to have my rear trackbar in place?

I just installed my BDS 3 1/2 lift this weekend, my question is do I have to have either trackbar installed? I left the front one in place, what should i do about the rear one?

I only have 2.5 in lift, but I don't have either track bar in place and haven't for quite a while.

Yeah, I have a 4 inch lift, and 1 inch of lift shackles, and I have neither Trac Bars nor the Anti-Sway bar installed. I have no problems. My Grand Cherokee doesnt have any antisway bars attached, no problem. My Grand Wagoneer also does not have any sway bars or trac bars attached, no problems...

on my YJ with RE 4.5 Extreme I have no trackbars or swaybar. the kit came with a relocation bracket for the front trackbar, but the instructions specifically said to throw away you rear trackbar, as it will not be reused. i haven't noticed any problems from running without them.

What does the track bar do anyways? I know the sway bars are there to dampen the movement of the jeep when you are turning or swerving. But can't figuer out what the track bars are for.

The track bar locates the axle laterally instead of relying on the springs for this. On a leaf sprung vehicle, it is not required.
