My gear shift - inquiring minds want to know

I had wanted one of these for decades (originally for my sand-rail). A few months ago, I mentioned it to a neighbor and he said he had one. Dug around in his garage and pulled out this. Said his brother was an Army helicopter mechanic and that it came off a Cobra gunship. All the switches work & someday I'm going to wire it up - winch, lockers, cutting brakes, horn, brights, who-knows what all. There is actually another red push button switch that isn't visible in the picture, along with the 'trigger'. The round black switch is the trim and has 4 positions to use. That make 8 devices I can hook-up to it.
I had to use a 1" piece of wood dowel to attach it to the lever. It's completely solid and usable. I may have a shop machine me a piece of aluminum to replace the wood.
There is a air museum in town. I may see if they can help me score a handle from and F-15 or 16. If so, this one may go up for grabs.
