OT: How do I paint chrome?

What do I need to do to make paint stick to chrome?

They that can give up essential
liberty to obtain a little temporary
safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Re: OT: How do I paint chrome?

I don't think you can paint it. Needs to be "de-chromed".

Re: OT: How do I paint chrome?

i bought a sandblast kit that is like a little
briefcase. it was about $25, and i bought some
glass bead from mcmaster-carr.
i bet that if you get coarse enough grit, that
would etch it enough to paint. "chrome blows"
....flat black......

when in doubt.........
empty the magazine.

Gregg

You guys up North waste a lot of jeep mod money on flowers to tell your Jeep Chick/wife/Girlfriends how you feel about them. Here we just spray paint thier names on an overpass. Say it with Krylon!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: OT: How do I paint chrome?

There is three ways to paint crome. One have it dipped to take off the chrome. Mum sounds expainsive. Two sand or glass bead it, then primer with a self etching primer, then paint. Three and the most work. Sand the living crap out of it, then primer and paint. Always use self etching primer. Its great stuff.

Can someone please bring me a hammer my 33's just ate my fender again. Damn i need more lift.
