Center consoles how wide?

Anyone put a 10" tuffy console in a YJ? Im looking to go as big as possible. Since my seats are shot, its going to be a complete redo. I know the factory seats are about 24.5 " wide. The steel horse super seat ( the one thing I hear they make right)is only 21.5" wide. This difference plus maybe shifting the seats on the brackets outward could make a lot of room for a console ( maybe even the 12"). Notice how in the YJ you dont sit in front of the pedals but they are off to the left along with the steering wheel? This makes you kinda drive twisted to the side. Well moving the seats outward would help this also. I read that the bestop trail max pro is about the same size as the factory seat is this true. I dont want to but if I have to I will just go with the 8" tuffy console. Thanks

well for example i have a (choke, cough, sputter) the only STEELHORSE product on my jeep which is the console. it measures 8-1/2" wide. it tucks tightly between two LEONROSSER "think jeep" seats. each seat measures approx 21" wide.

Re: Center consoles how wide?

I've got a 9.5" ammo box console in my CJ with YJ tub and CJ seats.
It has about an inch or so clearance on either side of the console, so using CJ seats, a 10" console should fit snugly between the seats.
